The blue fairy

We all have a favorite movie we watched as a child that even today sticks in our minds, mine is Pinocchio. I remember going to see the Disney Version with my dad. And love the goldfish but also the blue fairy. Later the blue faerie came up again in the movie AI.
Where to Artificial intelligent robot identifies with  Pinocchio because he wants to be a real boy. Is as I was playing with my layout for itkupilli new kit  Cirque Des Souvenirs . I remembered both movies and the blue fairy who had the power to make Pinocchio dreams come true.
So there my Blue Fairy. Maybe she can Grant my wish too.

As a kid the best part of decorating the Christmas tree wasn't the bright lights or the shiny bubbles or the presents under or even the chocolate treats my mum used to tie on the tree limbs.

But the Christmas Angel on the top.

Last week I happened on a listing on eBay for the same Christmas Angel we had all those years ago.

Imagine my delight to see her ,I'm sorry to say she'd been brought but it give me the idea to make an Angel for my tree this year.

And if you like to try for yourself she is very easy to do she'd make a great project to do with your children or grandkids.

Supplies used

The artist model blank from Sandra Evertson Relics and Artifacts.
A  large paper mache cone
I used Apoxie sculpt but you could also use paper clay.
White gesso and paints in skin tone, blue , green and turquoise, white and black.
Alcohol inks in mineral and smoke
Paper glue
Tulle, white, blue , green and mint
Tiny beads
Snowflake buttons and plastic icicles and christmas picks, small tree from Michaels
Also a glittery butterfly ornament for her wings from walmart
Start by adding clay to head and bringing it down around the face but not over the ears. I added the plastic icicles and used a paintbrush end to add texture and also added some snowflake buttons.

I also add some clay over breast and torso and also textured that with the buttons

I also add some more clay around the end to make it a little stronger before fixing it to the paper cone

Apoxie sculpt drys rock hard overnight but if you decide to use paperclay you will need to wait a few days for it to dry. I painted the face at this point.
and painted the upper and lower part of her dress and the cone.
I started with a base of white gesso and then several coats of blue , green , lastly I used alcohol inks
and lots of glitter  and beads. Her dress was made with six layers of white tulle then different shades of blue and green and mint. Lastly some sparkle with leaves and more snowflakes

I made the arms last and added them to her shoulders and added some more tulle to hide the glue .. and she's nearly done just add her wings and a small christmas tree for her to hold... well she is the Christmas Tree Angel after all

And who's to say when and if my kids ever have kids of their own they won't also think that the best part of decorating the Christmas tree is putting my angel on the top.

I hope you'll try making an christmas tree angel for your tree.

Fun kit from itkupillli this month, it's a sequel to Transition 1 kit.
Transition 2  has lots of lovely elements and images to play with. I especially love the blue mushrooms.

I could cry ...and I may later when I not so mad with myself ...... I spend hours yesterday filming and then editing my first how to, to find this morning when I cleared out the videos from my iPad storage it also wiped them from the iMovie program and the cloud. The only saving grace it’s that I have the photos of the completed project. But if there was ever a time for me to swear this would be the time. But at least I still have the finished project and yes I could remake it or make something else and film it.

There it is tilted  Time.

With the words time is slow to the young but too fast for the old but for those in love its eternal.

It's made with the artist model doll   http://www.sandraevertson.com/shop/artists-modelfrom Relics and Artifact line of blanks, the base is a wooden block from Michaels, the steampunk cogs and clock parts were from Amazon, but the watchcase is a vintage piece I found ages ago also the watch faces.  I made the wings with a mould and paperclay. The larger wings are also from Relics and Artifacts  http://www.sandraevertson.com/shop/raphael-wings

Is that a line from a movie ? well I back to blogging again. I know it's been a while. lots of news some good, some bad but I'm back in the studio , working on projects.  Still designing layout for itkupilli. Have lots of layout and kits to show you. I been hanging out on facebook  and instagram which I'm told by my son is the new facebook.Pop over and say hello . I'm going to go through my following list and see what you all been doing. I'm trying vlogging to ... and will be posting some of my how to videos soon.

Never one to sit still....so lets show you some stuff I've been doing. As it's October and Breast Cancer Awareness month I been posting a new bare breasted layouts  made with some the kits from itkupilli.

I nearly lost a dear friend of mine recently to this horrible disease. She's slowly getting healthy again. But I was really scared for me and her .. Why me you ask.... because she's a important part of my life . I could imagine the world without her in it..  friends are worth their weight in gold.
Titled all Hallows ball You know I couldn't miss adding a little Halloween to some of these layouts

I used mostly itkupilli but there is some Holliewood studios  and fine crafted designs too

See you tomorrow.. see I have to get back in the routine  of blogging each morning again. See you in the morning with a cup of tea.

hugs Wendy
