Rush, rush.... rush

How was your weekend?

I was rushing to get this ATC and faeries bottle made so I could send it with Mr. Husband.
He had to go to Germany for work so it worked out ideal to pop over to England first..to see family and take this gift over.

 The ATC and faeries bottle is for my sister Julie .. yes the one with the blog, so if you pop over don't tell her about this  ( whispering)  "As it is for her birthday in April".... As you can see it all matches the ATC , the gift box and the faerie bottle...I didn't mean to do that but it happened. The bottle is made from an antique salt pot altered with the help of some vintage lace, one of my frozen Vicky heads and a vintage bling. I hope she likes it...

The Blue Faerie

The Blue faerie

Under the bluebells, under the moon the blue faerie sat on a bright blue bird, she whispered to all that could hear that where ever she went good luck would appear.

Artwork and words by Wendy Apsinall

Graphic from Scrapbookgraphis.com and the Graphic fairy

This morning I woke up in a wonderful mood, the weather today is warn , the sun is out , the birds aer singing and the world is telling me that spring is near...

Early Spring

Lord Alfred Tennyson

Once more the Heavenly Power

Makes all things new,

And domes the red-plowed hills

With loving blue;

The blackbirds have their wills,

The throstles too.

Opens a door in Heaven;

From skies of glass

A Jacob's ladder falls

On greening grass,

And o'er the mountain-walls

Young angels pass.

Before them fleets the shower,

And burst the buds,

And shine the level lands,

And flash the floods;

The stars are from their hands

Flung through the woods,

The woods with living airs

How softly fanned,

Light airs from where the deep,

All down the sand,

Is breathing in his sleep,

Heard by the land.

O, follow, leaping blood,

The season's lure!

O heart, look down and up,

Serene, secure,

Warm as the crocus cup,

Like snow-drops, pure!

Past, Future glimpse and fade

Through some slight spell,

A gleam from yonder vale,

Some far blue fell;

And sympathies, how frail,

In sound and smell!

Till at thy chuckled note,

Thou twinkling bird,

The fairy fancies range,

And, lightly stirred,

Ring little bells of change

From word to word.

For now the Heavenly Power

Makes all things new,

And thaws the cold, and fills

The flower with dew;

The blackbirds have their wills,

The poets too.

Art Creation Friday #106

It's art creactions friday again and here is mine... I had two ideas for this image, she is so upset but with her arms crossed she also looks as if she's pouting.... My mum would tell you she looks like me as a child. I think I did alot of pouting as a kid ...I did grow out of it... I did.... so there!

Lesley Gore

Nobody knows where my Johnny has gone

Judy left the same time

Why was he holding her hand

When he's supposed to be mine

It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to

Cry if I want to, cry if I want to

You would cry too if it happened to you

Playin' my records, keep dancin' all night

Leave me alone for a while

'Till Johnny's dancin' with me

I've got no reason to smile

It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to

Cry if I want to, cry if I want to

You would cry too if it happened to you

Judy and Johnny just walked through the door

Like a queen with her king

Oh what a birthday surprise

Judy's wearin' his ring

It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to

Cry if I want to, cry if I want to

You would cry too if it happened to you

There's a spring in my step

because the weather is beautiful today, I have an itch to get plants and dig in the earth but it is a little too early yet... it may turn cold again so instead I made a spring like Shrine.. I have to admit I have a bit of a soft spot for shrines... it's because they are story packed into a small space... I have  birds and eggs and faeries on my mind, well that's nothing new in the faeries but the bird thing is new... the box came from a christmas present.

It had teabags in but oh my! I took one look at the triangle shaped  box and knew It would become something beautiful....

And I still have the top of the box to play with, Oh what joy!

TAKE A WORD...... #17 DOOR

Alice looked at the scene before her, was that really the Eiffel tower she thought. she was just about to step through when..."who are you?" asked a kind voice from behind her. Alice looked around, but there was no one here only a barn owl perched on a old wooden ladder. Alice shook her head.  Did she really believe that the owl had spoken to her....

but when she turned back to the door. There stood a kangaroo dressed in a top hat.  "Did you open the magic door? demanded the Kangaroo.

"Of course she did" replied the owl.....

To be continued ......

I wonder !

Why is it?  when you are having fun, doing things you want to, that time just flies away from you. But when you are doing something boring, time slows and minute feels like an hour. Last week when I was stuck in bed the days felt an eternity. But today while playing at the computer there's not enough time.

It feels like minute since my boys were small,when I turned they grew up..... I looked at photos of them yesterday looking at their cute, happy faces and wondered where time had gone.

If you are reading this and do still have young ones in the house , then what are you doing reading this rubbish. GO !and enjoy them before they grow, make every minute count because time passing quicker than you realise...

and with that deep thought I leave you to be with my Family.. Hugs Wendy

A lITtLe BiT oF sTrEaMpUnK..........

Midsummers nights dream
by William Shakespeare

Out of this wood do not desire to go:

Thou shalt remain here, whether thou wilt or no.

I am a spirit of no common rate;

The summer still doth tend upon my state;

And I do love thee: therefore, go with me;

I'll give thee fairies to attend on thee,

And they shall fetch thee jewels from the deep,

And sing while thou on pressed flowers dost sleep:

And I will purge thy mortal grossness so

That thou shalt like an airy spirit go.

Pushing myself

to try new ways to make art and today I tried this..... oh yes ! I forgot thank you for all the well wishes, the hip is back to normal and I am out of bed and playing.....with some new ATC.

I'm very pleased with how they turned out...

The Multicoloured Swap shop

When I was a teenager , (all those years ago) there was a television program called "The multicoloured swap shop".... anyone reading this from England may remember this .. but for everyone else I will explain. The idea was that kids would offer a swap and then you could call in with something you wanted to swap with them.. then the person would decide which swap they wanted ....I always wanted to have a go... but never did.. so the reason for my story. As forty something woman I am now taking part in my very own multicoloured swap shop.

My first swap this month was with Riki at http://rikijewelry.blogspot.com/

check out her blog her jewelry is stunning.

  We were asked to made a heart and here is the one she send to me... isn't it  wonderful . It came in a robin's egg blue pocket and the heart is cream , the same robin's egg blue and brown . Beautiful!  Riki added a pocket on the heart so I can add a photo... I love that.
The swap was hosted by mosaic magpie. http://mosaicmagpie.blogspot.com/

 I want to send Debbie all the hugs I can because while in the middle of hosting. Her husband became ill and was rushed to the hospital and although this was going on in her life she still wanted to get all the hearts off to us ...A big thank you to Debbie and my prayers are with you.
This is the heart I sent to Riki.

My next swap was part of the A swap for all seasons  "The winter swap"  We
were asked to make a small fabric sampler... this is mine and it went to my partner Michele http://askmichelesomethingspecial.blogspot.com/

And this is what Michele kindly sent back .... we both had a laugh that we both added a picture of the Eiffel tower ...

Don't you just love the colours Michele used . They scream Paris to me. Thank you Michele
